After two years travelling around Festivals, the shortfilm made in the Master Stop Motion 2017 edition, by students Rucha Dhayarkar, Antonia Piña, Lorène Friesenbichler y Phaedra Derizioti is already available to watch online.
During this time, “From the same Thread” has been participating in different festivals around the world.
The first screening was at Stop Motion Festival Montreal as part of the official selection in September 2017. After this, the shortfilm started travelling to different events such as StopTrik Festival (Slovenia), Balkanima European Animated Film (Serbian), Thessaloniki Animation Festival (Greece), Animasivo (Mexico), Animac (Spain), Mecal (Spain), La Truca (Colombia), Japan Media Arts Festival (Japan), Le plein super (France), StopMotion Barcelona (Spain), Zabut International Festival (Italy), Tetova International Festival (Macedonia), Anim!Arte Festival Internacional (Brasil), among others.
“From the same Thread” also won Best Student Work in CRAFT Festival, Indonesia, and “Stratos Stasinos Annual Prize 2017” given by ASIFA Hellas.
“In 2018, we were invited by some festivals to present the shortfilm in the event, which gave us the chance to travel and see our work in a big screen” Antonia Piña.
Lorène and Phaedra attended to Cannes last year, to present “From the same thread” as part of the cathegory ShortFilm Corner selected by ANNY (Animation Nights New York). had the chance to attend Hiroshima International Animation Festival, in Japan. Phaedra went to Animasyros International Festival, in Greece. And Antonia attended Monstra, Animated Film Festival in Lisbon and Animakom Festival, in Bilbao. To be able to meet other students, animators and filmmakers, to see their shortfilm screened in a cinema and to talk about their process have been a very motivating experience for the students.
